Designing your nursery is one of the many fun activities carried out while brining a new baby home. In this place only the baby spends a good deal of time and hence it should be relaxing and stimulating too. As well as buying curtains and painting the walls, you must naturally make the crib up with baby bedding. Choose primary colors or soft pastels for the wall.
If you want the baby’s room to be a gender-specific color, it is best to paint after the child is born. The woodwork should probably be painted white or some other solid color that will be set off by the walls. If your walls are a specific color or colors, your floor should be neutral.
A nursery’s key feature is the crib bedding. Nursery bedding can determine the tone of the room, for example, your nursery will always look feminine when you use baby girl bedding sets. You may choose a baby bedding with a whimsical print, with a character from a children’s TV show, or has stripes or polka dots or an appropriate color.
Make certain the bedding and the wall colors work together in a visually pleasing way. You can either buy the paint after you decide on the baby bedding, or purchase the bedding dependent on your wall color; just be sure to think about how both will look together.
Be sure to look for other items and accessories, such as curtains, that use the same pattern as your baby’s bedding, to create a cohesive look to the room. If your baby bedding is based around a movie or TV character, you should be able to find other accessories based on the same character to decorate the nursery. Once you set the theme or the color scheme of the room, you can hang pictures on the walls and buy decorations for the furniture. Details such as specialty drawer pulls and knobs (available for most dressers and chests) really help finish the room.
Safety is number one priority when purchasing bedding and setting up your baby’s crib! The crib should only have one fitted sheet on mattress to ensure safety. Yes, they are adorable additions to the crib, but can also be a choking or suffocation hazard to your child. It would be terrible if your baby’s breathing were blocked by a pillow of blanket that covered his or her nose and mouth.
